See what you have to do is to just follow the steps.
1. Draw the line AB
2. Draw a 90° angle on AB on its centre by compass Take point P 5 or 6 cm on the arm of the angle
3. Now rotate your copy left side and again draw a angle of 90° on point P and extend the arm of the angle the extended arm of your angle is the line parallel to AB.
