ARTICLE: DREAMS AND ASPIRATIONS DO NOT DISCRIMINATE BETWEEN BOYS AND GIRLS

Living in this world which most people term as 'a man's world', sometimes people forget to realize the rights of equality.

The society and believers may stop women and girls from dressing a certain way, from applying for jobs at certain positions, from behaving in a certain manner, but what most people forget to realize is that they may discriminate between what boys and girls can and cannot do, but dreams and aspirations do not discriminate between boys and girls for they are a part of those universal rights which should be given to everyone.

Everyone has a right to dream and aspire to become like someone. If I were to be a girl who would wan't to become a lawyer and want to study at Harvard or Yale, then why not? Why do people stop me and tell me that my duties should be to cook and clean at home instead of being allowed to work late hours at my law firm in the future.

It is my right to dream a certain way. Look at Malala Yusuf Zai, a girl with some dreams when voiced her opinion she got shot. Why does the society want to dictate the things that girls should do just because they are girls.

It is sad and unlikely that the society would change overnight. It is the mindset of first the families that girls belong to we must change and then the people around them by proving them not only the capabilities of the girls, but also the rights of women.
