yes in drip irrigation there are openings fit near the roots and drop by drop fall on the root which make sure that no water is getting wasted in oter ways of irrigation like sprinkler water get wasted but in drip system the water fall directly on root and root absorb whereas in sprinkler water falls on leaf and other part which don't absorb water which get wasted area where there is water scarcity every drop count and as no water is wasted which make water reserve
