yes drip irrigation reduces loss of water because it gives tpants and crops the right amount of water which leads to water conservation. it is a good method for conserving water as there is scarcity of water in India and monsoon is unreliable in nature.

drip irrigation takes place through pipes the water is not led simply in the groud in open conditions thus evaporation do not take place instead it is conserved as it travels through pipes upto the roots of the plants
