Variation in g with Altitude.

Near the surface of the earth, g decreases by roughly* 3 ´ 10-5 %/m » 1 ´ 10-5 %/ft. The summit of Timpanogos (11750') is about 7100' higher than the ground level around the ESC (4655'). g is therefore about 0.67 cm/s2 less on that summit than on campus.
