Dry hcl gas is not acidic but its water solution is acidic explain by an experiment.

Please help me fast, it's urgent

Answer:

on addition of h2o, the hydrogen ion disassociates and releases h+ ions in the solution which makes it acidic.

similarly, hcl gas doesnt show its acidic behavior in absence of h2o as there is no disassociation of ions.
