Dry ice is obtained from carbon dioxide at a temperature of -80 degrees Celsius, it is never at room temperature. Just like ice cubes in your soft drink, dry ice is cold. You can keep it for a while in a room at room temperature, but thereby it will, just like the ice cubes, slowly disappear (go from solid directly to gas -> sublimation) as the temperature increases!

Hope it helps!☺
