Green leaves contain moisture whereas dry leaves do not contain moisture as a result, the ignition temperature of green leaves is higher than that of dry leaves. Due to this reason, it is difficult to burn a heap ofgreen leaves but dry leaves catch fire easily.The dried leaves catch fire easily because the scarcity of water increases the friction between them....As the components of a car engine Green leaves have moisture in them . dry leaves which we use does not contain the moisture whereas green leaves contain lot of moisture.due to this the ignition temperature {the lowest temp. at which fuel started burning} of green leaves is much higher than dry leaves.
