The dual goverment in Bengal started with the reign of Robert Clive In Bengal.The Nawab was just a puppet in the hands of British and he received an income of 6 lakh.The Nawab was just a craft sitting on his throne and listening to the problems of the people while the British took control of the treasury and millitary affairs.Later the British took direct control of the whole kingdom.
