Due to an increase in the price of sugar by 25%, by how much per cent must a householder decrease the consumption of sugar so that there is no increase in the expenditure on sugar?​

= Rs125

new consumption will be = 125kg

required decrease in comsumption

to maintan expenditure

= 125 - 100 = 25 kg

increase in price = 25% = 25/100 = 1/4

l New price = 4+1 = 5

required decrease in comsumption

= 1/5 * 100 = 20% Answer
