Question :- Due to drop of 30% in price of mobile sets of shop there was a increase in sale by 20% . what is there effect on mobile shop ?

Solution :-

Let us assume that, price of the each mobile is Rs.100 and the shop sell 100 mobiles .

so,

→ Total money shop gets = 100 * 100 = Rs.10000

now, given that,

→ Price of a mobile is decrease by = 30% .

then,

→ New price of a mobile = (100 * 70)/100 = Rs.70

and,

→ sales was increased by = 20% .

then,

→ New sales = (100 * 120)/100 = 120 mobiles.

therefore,

→ Total money shop gets now = 120 * 70 = Rs.8400 .

hence,

→ Decreased in the sell of shop = 10000 - 8400 = Rs.1600

→ % Decreased = (1600 * 100) / 10000 = 16% (Ans.)
