due to lorry strike, a merchant had to sell his goods worth Rs 12500 for
Rs 7500 only. Calculate the loss percent incurred by the merchant

$Loss \: \% \: = \frac{12500 - 7500}{12500} \times 100$

$= \frac{5000}{12500} \times 100$

$= 40\%$

Hence, the merchant has to bear 40% loss.

Tip: It is not "gays" it is "guys"
