The metallic bonds in transition elements are more malleable, ductile and have high tensile strength due to low volatility

  • The metallic character of the element is the as the easiness of an atom to loose its electrons from its valency shell
  • Most of the transition elements exhibits low volatility which makes the metallic bonds  malleable, ductile ,having high tensile strength, luster etc
  • There are some exceptional elements in the transitions elements such as Zn, Cd, Hg and Mn which do not follow these properties
  • The  remaining elements other than these show more metallic character at normal temperatures
