Solution :-

we know that,

• Price * sale = Revenue

Let initial price is 10x and initial sale is 10y .

so,

→ 10x * 10y = 100xy (initial revenue)

since both price and sale are decreased by 15% ,

→ 8.5x * 8.5y = 72.25xy (new revenue)

therefore,

→ Revenue decreased by = 100xy - 72.25xy = 27.75xy

hence,

→ Required % = (27.75xy * 100)/100xy = 27.75% (Ans.)

Shortcut :-

• formula = (-A) + (-B) + {(-A) * (-B)/100}

putting A = B = 15%

→ Required % = (-15) + (-15) + {(-15) * (-15)/100}

→ Required % = (-30) + 2.25

→ Required % = 27.75% (Ans.)
