Answer:
Let the original qty be x gms. Cost = 270/x
Price has reduced by 10% which means 10% of 270/x or 27/x
For the reduced price he can get 250 gms more.
Equation formed would be:
270/x - 27/x = 270/x+250
=270 (x+250) -27 (x+250)=270x
=270x +67500 - 27x - 6750 = 270x
27x = 60750
x = 2250 gms.
Original qty is 2250 gms
Qty that could be purchased after reduction in price is 2250+250=2500 gms.
Original cost per kg is equal to 270 x 4/9 which is equal to Rs.120 per kg.
New price per kg = 270 x2/5 = Rs. 108 per kg
