Synergism is the process of working together of two things ( be it a muscle or drugs) to produce an effect that is greater than the sum of their individual effects.

So due to synergism if a person take two depressants together then the effect of it is going to be more than the effects of each one summed up together. saw for e.g, the effect is going to be that of 4 or 5 depressants.
