Following are the reasons why global heat belt shifts northward in the summer:

During the course of Earth's revolution around the sun, the Earth's axial tilt apparently changes with respect to the Suh.

In summers, the axial tilt reaches its zenith exposing the northern hemisphere to direct and concentrated impact of the Suns rays.

The direct sun rays increase the intensity of heat and thus, it appears like the heat belt has shifted northward.
