Answer: Due to Captain Welsh conquesting against the Moamariya Rebellion, king Gaurinath Singha lost the capital of Assam. He approached Company Bahadur which was in power at that time.
But they refused to help because they were already involved in the fight with Tipu Sultan over the taxes. The treaty of 1792 brought the Company back in the power to rule or manage the other affairs.
