duke was an extra ordinary dog. his master was Chuck Hooper . chuck loved him for he was energetic and cheerful . one day chuck met with an accident where he was seriously injured . his left side was completely paralyzed following the accident . he underwent physiotherapy but didn't show much improvement . while at home he felt lonely when Marcy his wife went to work . so his pet Duke was brought home from kennel .  he played a major role in bringing him back to normal life . he acted as a companion for his crippled master . it assumed all the responsibility in leading his crippled master back to his office . when duke saw chuck after a long time he jumped on him hitting him above his belt causing him lose his balance . he realised his mistake and never did that again . the same day with the help of Duke ,chuck made his first step . there was a rekindled hope . then it was like the dog owned the man, for it was he who led chuck . the couple set daily goals, monday the 6 th fence post , Tuesday the 7 th fence post and so one . the efforts were rewarded for after a week he walked 200 meters to he local post office . from march 1 he began his full day work . the achievement reveals that duke was patient . he advanced his and his masters objectives step by step and thus succeeded at the end
