Yes, I support this statement that dumping of waste materials made up of metals and non metals leads to environmental pollution because of the following reasons:
1) As we know that metals are Non biodegradable and they are gathering on the earth due to this many cities have already facing a problem of landfill space and dumping of these cause soil pollution. They are non degradable pollutants and persist in the environment.
2) When these waste materials corrode they pollute ground water by the process of leaching ( washing out of minerals or nutrients)
3) Non metals in the form of oxides like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, nitric oxide and green house gases like carbon dioxide and methane which cause global warming and green house effect.
