yes, the statement is right that "dumping of waste materials made up of metals and non metals leads to environment pollution". because metals are non biodegradable waste and cannot be made less toxic easily .Since they are non biodegradable they deposited into the earth due to which many cities are facing a problem of landfill space and dumping of these wastes causes soil pollution.They are major pollutants of the environment.

non metals in the form of oxides like carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and green house gases like carbon dioxide and methane are causing global warming and green house effect.

when these wastes (metals and non metals are
corroded they pollute ground water by the process of leaching (washing out of minerals or nutrients).
