Durga Puja is a grand occasion in Kolkatta when the
city forgets its worries and yields to sudden excitement of
celebration and worships. People buy new clothes from
stores which remain open till late night and offer
discounts.
In Kolkatta, Puja festivities go on for four days. On the
fourth day, that is the last day of the festival, the images
are taken out in a procession at about 4'o clock in the
evening accompained by brass brand, for immersion.
There at Hoogly, with loud cries and reverence the ima
are pushed into the river.
