● Petrol have high calorific value and catches fire very easily and due to evaporation action of petrol this can be more dangerous. Thus petrol is not safe for household activities. Low calorific kerosene or LPG can be used.

● Calorific value is the amount of energy contained in any fuel during combustion per Kg or unit mass. It is measured in joule per Kg, J/Kg.

● Ignition temperature is the minimum temperature required for burning of any fuel. Calorific value deals with the maximum energy content of any fuel, while it is related to minimum energy content to start combustion.

● Petrol use in household activities can cause damage to electrical appliances to house articles and can cause house burning. So, it is avoided in domestic use rather used in transport activities.
