Answer: 1% is the average people affected by T.B.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • It was noticed that T.B affected 1% of people.
  • In a college of 400 students 5 were affected.
  • % affected=\frac{5}{400}*100

                          =1.25%

  • In other college of 1200 students 10 were affected.
  • % affected=\frac{10}{1200} *100

                          =0.83%

  • Average % people affected=\frac{1.25+0.83}{2}

                                                      =1.04%≈ 1%

  • Hence,average people affected is given as 1% who are affected by T.B.
