discount= 40%
orignal price = 450
increase in price= 40%

Price during the sale,

=450 x (100% - 40%)
=450 x 60%
=450 x 0.6
= 270

Price after the sale,
total increase= 100% + 40%= 140% or 1.4
=270 x 1.4
=378

COMPLETE QUESTION

During a sale, a store offered a 40% discount on a particular camera that was originally priced at $450. After the sale, the discounted price of the camera was increased by 40%. What was the price of the camera after this increase?

ANSWER

The final price of the camera is $378

GIVEN

Orignal price of camera = $ 450

Discount during sale = 40%

Increment after sale = 40%

TO FIND

Final price of the Camera.

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

Orignal price of the camera = $450

Discount price = 40%

price after Discount = 450 - ((40/100)× 450)

= 450 - 0.4 × 450

= 450 - 180

= $ 270

Increment % = 40

Price of camera after increment = 270 + ((40/100)×270)

= 270 + 108

= $ 378

Hence, The final price of the camera is $378
