SOLUTION :

If we want full packs of both and the same number of pencils and crayons,we need to find the L.C.M of 24 and 32 to find the number of each we need to buy.

Given :

Number of color pencils in one pack = 24

Number of crayons in pack = 32.

Prime factor of 24 = 2 × 2 × 2× 3 = 2³ × 3¹

Prime factor of 32 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 = 2^5

L.C.M of 24 and 32 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 = 96

L.C.M of 24 and 32 = 96

number of packs of pencils to be bought = 96/24=4

number of packs of crayon to be bought = 96/ 32=3

Hence, we would need to buy 4 packs of pencils and 3 packs of crayons

Given :

Color pencils were being sold in packs of 24 each and Crayons in packs of 32 each.

Here, We have to find the number of pencils and crayons.

Prime factorization of 24 = 2^3 * 3

Prime factorization of 32 = 2^5.

LCM(24,32) = 2^5 * 3

                   = 32 * 3

                   = 96.

The number of color pencils need to buy = 96/24 = 4.

The number of crayons need to buy = 96/32 = 3.

Hope this helps!
