Solution:

Speed of the signal (v) = 3×10⁸m/s

Distance (s) = ?

We know,

Speed = distance/ time

i.e. v = s/t

or, s = v×t

or, s = 3×10⁸m/s × 5 × 60 s

or, s = 900 × 10⁸ m

or, s = 9 × 10¹⁰ m

Thus, The Distance of the spaceship from the ground station is 10¹⁰ m.
