Let the distance between the spaceship and the ground station be 'S' .

Then,

S=vt

where,

v= speed of signal

=3×10 8 m/st

= time taken

=5min=5×60s=

300s∴

s=3×10 8 ×300

=9×10¹ m

t= time taken =5min=5×60s=300s

∴s=3×10^8×300=9×10^10m
