from a spaceship reached the
ground station in five minutes.
What was the distance of the
spaceship from the ground
station? The signal travels at the
speed of light, that is, 3 x 108

Answer :

9 x 10^10

Explanation :

Given ,

time (t) = 5 min

speed of signal (v) = 3 x 10^8 m/s

Let the distance between the spaceship and the ground be = ' s '

'We know that ,s = vt. --------(eq.1)

v = speed of signal

v = speed of signal = 3 x 10^8 m/s

time (t) = 5 min

converting into seconds

1 min = 60 sec

5 min = 5 x 60 sec

300 sec

Putting all the values in (eq.1)

s = vt

s = (3 x 10^8 x 300) m

s = 900 x 10^8

OR

s = 9 x 10^10

I hope it helps you
