When heat was removed from the ideal gas, work was done from outside and the ideal gas had performed negative work.
Now from 1st law of Thermodynamics,
∂Q=∂U+∂W
For an isothermal process
∂U=0
Given,
∂Q=−5J
So,
∂W=∂Q=−5J
