In the burning of a candle, both physical and chemical changes take place.

Physical - The solid wax of the candle first melts to form liquid wax which then turns into wax vapour. Both of these changes can be reversed and thus, are physical changes.

Chemical - The wax vapour then burns. This change cannot be reversed and hence is a chemical change.

Yes both changes takes place during the burning of a candle because the thread of candle burns which is considered as a chamical change but the wax of candle melts which is considered as a physical change because we can collect the melted wax again ...
