During chemistry experiment ,student dropped the flask contsining 250 ml,3 molar naoh solution. due to this 50ml of solution out of 250 ml had fallen on the floor .thinking tht teacher may punish him for this mistake ,he replenished the left over solution with 50 ml of water .the new molarity of naoh soution will be?

The morality of a mixture can be obtained by M1V1=M2V2
Initially it was a 3 molar 250ml solution, but 50ml was dropped.
So, 200ml of 3 molar solution was diluted to 250ml.
let final molality be M.
so, 0.20 x 3 = M x 0.25 { M1V1 = M2V2 }
M = 2.4 molar.
