SP of gown = ₹2990

Discount = 35%

Let the MP be x.

 \sf{SP = \bigg(1- \dfrac{d}{100}\bigg)×MP}

 \implies\sf{2990 =  \bigg(1 -  \dfrac{35}{100} \bigg)x}

 \implies \sf{2990 =  \bigg(1 -  \dfrac{7}{20} \bigg)x}

 \implies \sf{2990 =  \bigg( \dfrac{20 - 7}{20} \bigg)x}

 \implies \sf{2990 = \bigg(\dfrac{13}{20} \bigg)x}

 \implies \sf{x =  \dfrac{20}{13} \times 2990}

\implies\sf{x \:  =  \: }{\underline{\boxed{\sf{₹4600}}}}

Therefore, MP = x = 4600.

Given,

Selling price of gown, \[S.P. = 2990\]

Discount, \[d = 35\% \]

Solution,

Consider the marked price is x.

\[x - 35\% x = 2990\]

Solve this equation,

\[x - \frac{{35}}{{100}}x = 2990\]

\[ \Rightarrow \frac{{65}}{{100}}x = 2990\]

\[ \Rightarrow x = 4600\]

Hence the marked price is \[4600\].
