Andaman Nicobar was the place where people were sent for the Kalapaani.
It was in the year 1896 that this jail was built in Port Blair.
It took around 10 years for the britisher’s to complete the construction and was one of the well-made jails of all time.
The route used to bring the prisoners was via sea.
