During digestion the body absorbs only useful nutrients about 95% in the small intestine (ileum). Water and mineral ions are reabsorbed back into the bloodstream in the colon (large intestine)

Answer:

During digestion, the food we eat gets digested. The body absorbs only the nutrients in the form of glucose, amino acids and fatty acids. Rest of the undigested food is eliminated out of the body through the anus.
