During flow through nozzle velocity decreases enthalpy increases

Flow begins to increase as the back pressure is lowered. The velocity increases in the converging section but M < 1 at the throat; thus, the diverging section acts as a diffuser with the velocity decreasing and pressure increasing. The flow remains subsonic through the nozzle.
