During formation of a virtual image, if the light rays do not intersect in reality, then how the image can be formed?

it is believed that the image could have formed.....if there was a screen present behind the mirror. and if it was possible to obtain it...

the light rays is assumed to be formed behind the mirror or in front of lens,, which can cause intersection of light rays virtually. and the image is formed which is virtual.
