Given,

Percentage of money in traveler's check\[ = 75\% \]

Percentage of money in cash\[ = 25\% \]

Percentage of money left in traveler's checks upon return\[ = 30\% \]

Amount of money left in traveler's checks upon return\[ = 18000\]

Solution,

Assume that the total amount be \[100x\].

Therefore,

\[\begin{array}{l} \Rightarrow \frac{{30}}{{100}} \times 25x = 18000\\ \Rightarrow x = \frac{{18000 \times 100}}{{30 \times 25}}\\ \Rightarrow x = 2400\end{array}\]

So, the total money at the origin is given as

\[\begin{array}{l} \Rightarrow 2400 \times 100\\ \Rightarrow 240000\end{array}\]

Hence, the total money that he had originally is rupees \[240000\].
