Given :  ‘an astronaut ‘s pulse rate rose 48 beats per minute, then fell 15 beats per minute, again rose by 32 beats per minute, and after the astronaut’s return to the capsule, fell 50 beats per minute.

To find : net change in his pulse rate

Solution:

rose 48 beats per minute

fell 15 beats per minute,

rose by 32 beats per minute

fell 50 beats per minute.

Total Rise = 48  + 32 = 80 beats per minute

Total fall = 15 + 50  = 65 beats per minute

Net Rise  =  80 - 65  = 15 beats per minute

net change in his pulse rate = 15 beats per minute
