During non-uniform motion of an object, if the velocity changes its direction also (or only) with time then it doesn't have along a straight line. The path may have rectilinear shape with turns or may be a curve.

  • In a non-uniform motion body moves with change in speed.

  • A body in a non- uniform motion covers unequal distance in equal interval of time

  • Average speed in non-uniform motion is different from actual speed of the object .

  • Non-uniform motion has non zero acceleration. It is called accelerated motion .

  • The distance-time graph in non-uniform motion makes a curve line.

Example of Non-uniform motion -:

Suppose a bus covers distance of 60 km in first hour and 40 km in second hour.

The bus is said to be in non-uniform motion as it covers unequal distance in equal interval of time.
