Sugar stored by plants is glucose which is not a very sweet sugar like fructose or sucrose. That is why all food stored by plants is not sweet.

During photosynthesis, leaves convert water and carbon oxide to a kind of sugar called glucose.
If it is so all food stored vying plant should be sweet but this is not so because it is like starch which is a giant chain of glucose but due to the way it's linked, we cant break it down into sugar as it does not provide any nutrient to us.
