When the light enters from air to glass slab ,it bends towards the normal because the air is rarer medium and glass is denser medium .After travelling in glass slab, the ray of light travel from glass to air thus the emergent ray bends away from the normal .we observe that incident ray and emergent are parallel each other because the angle made at top of glass is equal and opposite to the angle made at the bottom of glass slab
