The urgent need for social and religious reform that began to manifest itself from the early decades of the 19th century arose in response to the contact with Western culture and education.

According to me there are many ways to eradicate some social evils in
the society. Some of the most appropriate methods are as under :-

1 )Education -The best way to eradicate any social evil is through education because education has power to change the thinking and make us more consious what is right or wrong.

2)Awareness- Another method is by making people aware about their rights and duties that the government has given to them.

3)Strict legislature - There has to be some very strict punishments given for social evils.Only then people would be scared to commit a crime in the society.

4)Active and smart police -If the police would be strict and active they
would stop many crimes from happening and their image would improve in the society.

5)Cinema and plays-Cinema and plays are a very strong medium. They could be used as a medium to create awareness and would result in a more powerful way.
