The phenomane is scattering of light it is the process aof absorbtiin and remission of light.

Here sun appears red during sun set sun rays are at a distance so blue light gets scatters most and red light which has longer wavelength scatters least and enters our eyes

During the day the distance of sun is near therefore blue light is scattered up making the sky blue

clear cloudless day-time sky is blue because molecules in the air scatter blue light from the sun more than they scatter red light. When we look towards the sun at sunset, we see red and orange colours because the blue light has been scattered out and away from the line of sight.
