So, due to refraction of light through the layers of the atmosphere, the Sun is seen above the horizon while actually it is below the horizon. Similarly at the time of sunset, it actually sets, i.e., goes down below the horizon but appears above the horizon

because sun's Ray comes below the horizon get refracted and bend to inner side , and create a optical illusion .
