During operations, sometimes patients are administered blood from the outside, this process is called Transfusion.
Transfusion is receiving an outside blood in one’s circulatory system intravenously. There are many precautions one should take while receiving outside blood such as:
- Compatibility of blood group in both receiver and donor.
- Make sure the blood is transfused intravenously.
- Close inspection of the receiver even after the transfusion to avoid any un-usual reaction.
- Make sure the donated blood is screened before the transfusion.
