The process of protein synthesis takes place outside the cell, in a special organelle called Ribosome. They are also called protein factory. Before the protein synthesis starts, the RNA is released from the cytoplasm.

RNA is synthesized by a process called transcription. RNA polymerase enzyme use DNA strand to make a RNA strand which later on is translated into protein, inside the ribosome.
