The reason was due to forceful subjugation of our Asian culture we began to think that the Europeans were at the peak of civilization we aspire to reach. This was shown in destroying the very gurukul system of education in India. The colonial masters often used to assert that they are here to help us rule ourselves as we were unable to do so from the very beginning of our civilization, thus this can be concluded that during British rule in India all Asia societies were seen at a lower level.
