The correct chemical reaction is an acid metal reaction.

• When hydrogen burns the pop up sound will be produced. Generally, hydrogen combines with oxygen to form water and release a lot of energy. This is a chemical reaction.

2H + I --> H2O + energy.

• Hydrogen gas is highly explosive so it reacts with atmospheric oxygen is explosively fast.

• Hydrogen burns with a popup sound because it reacts with compounds or elements around it to release energy.

• Popup sound comes from the small explosions. Other common gasses like nitrogen and carbon dioxide, will not burn with oxygen.

The reaction that is taking place with a Pop sound is nothing but hydrogen burning in air whose reaction can be given as below:-

                                      H_{2}+ O \rightarrow H_{2}O

  • Now the formation of this reaction is not so casual but it has also some amount of energy that is released in the form of heat energy when the reaction takes place.
  • Since hydrogen acts as a good fuel for burning in the presence of oxygen when hydrogen burns it combines with oxygen atom and heat is generated.
  • This heat makes the adjacent layer of air to heat due to application of heat expansion takes place making a pop sound and breaking the barrier of sound.
