During the course of the year the length of the date changes. How do the times of sunrise and sunset change between summer and winter? why does this happen?

the length of the day changes from sunset to sunrise between Summer and winter because of in winter earth is far away form sun and in summer the earth is near by the sun and it is caused due one other reason that is the earth slightly upward in summer and in winter slightly downward .it also effect the day length.
